Bright Blessings

Wicca is a nature religion which acknowledges Mother Earth as a living deity and believes that all Creation is sacred. It is an initiatory mystery religion and it’s credo is “An it harm none, do what you will”.

Founded by Gerald Gardner in the UK in the 1950’s, Wicca is a synthesis of many older magickal systems and is one of the fastest growing religions in the world today.  Wiccans use energy, crystals, natural healing, the practice of positive magick and divination in order to redress the devastation of the environment of Mother Earth, and the current spiritual crises being experienced by humankind, and to help all living beings.

We believe in reincarnation, and acknowledge that, as everything is made of energy, energy can be worked with to bring about positive change. Wiccans also hold that humankind has many potentials which in most of us remain untapped, and which can be used to access our Inner Power, thus empowering us to become agents of positive change.  Wiccans celebrate the equinoxes, solstices and seasonal shifts, which we call Sabbats, we work with the cycles of the Moon and the Sun, and remain in close touch with the natural world we live in.

About Wicca

The Celestine Circle is one of the largest Wiccan groups in South Africa and was founded in April 2001.  We are Eclectic Wiccans (this means that we don’t subscribe to any particular tradition but use different systems depending on which suits a particular working).  The Celestine Circle is totally independent. Fey Fand, High Priestess, is an Executive Committee Member of the South African Pagan Rights Alliance, and a member of the South African Faith Communities Environmental Institute. We are non-hierarchical and all in the Circle are equal.  Our membership currently stands at over 200 people in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique and Worldwide, and we are growing all the time.

A newsletter is published on the website with networking details and articles of interest, and we also keep in touch via email about various astronomical events, environmental matters, parallel magickal workings, gatherings, Sabbats and much more...  Membership is automatic upon registration for the Celestine Circle Wiccan Way course. Members of the Celestine Circle meet every Sabbat in KwaZulu-Natal to share in community thanksgiving and ritual, and family, and friends, are welcome to attend, or come along and observe, the Circles. We go away for a weekend together, once a year. Attendance at the Annual Beltaine weekend away and at Pagan Freedom Day on 27 April every year (where we hold a large public Circle) is encouraged.

Please look at the course details on the website, and contact us if you would like to participate.  Fey does not teach interactively any longer, but keeps in close touch with correspondence students, who, if they live in KwaZulu-Natal, are welcome to join the Sabbat Circles held approximately every 6 weeks.  The Sabbat Circles change location, and details and invitations are given to members just prior.  Moon workings are done mainly as solitaries or in small groups of your own.  One day practical interactive workshops on Circle Casting and Magick, Herbal Healing, Tarot Reading and Psychic Development are available, and students are advised to participate in these if possible, in order to share in one on one study.

Students are required to email me at least once a month with updates about themselves, their study, and their practical work.  They are also requested to send contributions to the newsletter, such as poetry or quotes they were inspired by, articles, as well as using the classified section if they so wish (there is no charge for this).  We have a closed FaceBook Group where I keep everyone informed about Moon cycles and energies, gatherings, and environmental and other matters which we are working on.  We do parallel workings for various reasons, often environmental, where we all, at the same time on the same day, perform the same candle magick rite privately in our own homes, linking our energy and releasing our intent.

The Celestine Circle is multi-racial and many of our members, including Fey Fand, have studied as Sangomas, as well as worked with other methods of healing such as Reiki.  We do not discriminate against anyone who truly seeks knowledge and wisdom and approaches their study with a sense of commitment.  However, membership is restricted to those over 18 years of age.

Your own path you make with every step you take. That’s why it’s your path”
